Masjid Raya Al Mashun Medan Indonesia


Located in the heart of Medan, Masjid Raya Al Mashun or also known as the Great Mosque of Medan have been aged more than 100 years since it was first built on August 21, 1906. Architecturally, the building of this mosque adopted this style of building a mix of Moroccan, European, Malay, and the Middle East. The mosque building is so unique circular design with octagonal and has four main foyer in the front, rear, and left and right side. Similarly once the 4th foyer into the main entrance door to the mosque. In the dome, visible following the Turkish model, namely the shape of the broken octagonal. The main dome surrounded by four other domes on top of each veranda with a smaller size. The dome shape can be found there as well as at the Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh.
